Jim
Lambert at Woodpens.com
Before computers, before typewriters, there was the
pen. The perfect instrument of personal expression, which made and recorded
history, wrote of love and glory, and evolved in its form over centuries.
The humble pen has always brought strong reactions of love
and hate amongst its users - everyone seems to have their favorite styles
and types, and many consider the pen the ultimate art form of personal
expression. In these modern times, where so much of our culture is disposible,
there are artists working to preserve the beauty and heritage of yesterday's
tools. One glorious attribute of the internet, is that it makes such
artistry available to so many. Mrs. Gottrocks is proud to present the
work of Jim Lambert and his site, Woodpens.com.
James Allan Lambert was born in Newport Beach, California and relocated
to Florida at an early age. Perhaps it was life by the beach that led
James to appreciate the beauty of nature, and especially the beauty
of wood. James collects exotic wood from all over the world to make
his one-of-a-kind writing instruments. Each one is hand crafted using
a traditional wood lathe and handheld turning tools, and is made from
one of over forty different wood species selected for its extraordinary
grain pattern and color.
Because
these beautiful pens and other works in wood are crafted one at a time,
they make unique gifts, which will be treasured for years to come. Tina
Osgood of Ontairo, Canada recently wrote: "I received my pen
and...it is already my favorite pen!" Sheryl Levy, a lover
of old-style fountain pens, received one of Jim's pens recently and
wrote: "Not only is this pen comfortable, it is stylish and
durable. I'm hard on my pens, and the titanium tip is just the thing
for me. Not to mention, I adore natural woods and the wood grains in
this pen make it not only unqiue, but truly beautiful."
