========================================================
These were given to me for the holidays, and I thought they would
be a great treat to give for VaIentines Day. You can buy small jars
with a red lid, put a label on the front with the person's name, place
"Happy Valentines Day" and on the back. You can even list
the ingrediants and directions! It's very simple and inexpensive (and
tasty)!
1 egg white
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. walnuts
Beat ingredients. Pour on nuts; coat well. Bake at 350 for 1/2
hour on a foil lined cookie sheet, turning so they don't stick.
Cool on the cookie sheet.

This is a great recipe the whole family can make together. You will
need:
A large porcelain or glazed pottery bowl
A small metal bowl
2 cups milk chocolate chips/morsels (12 oz. Bag)
2 tblspns solid vegetable shortening
8-10 closed cookie cutters (2-3 inches in diameter) in the shape
of words (any kind will do, actually)
Aluminum foil
Small pieces of fruit, marshmallows, pretzels, or other food for
dipping
Directions: You can make chocolate candy shapes using chocolate
chips/morsels. First, put the chocolate into the small metal bowl
with 2 tablespoons of vegetable shortening. Have an adult fill the
large bowl with hot tap water (not boiling water). The adult should
set the smaller bowl of chocolate into the hot water, stirring until
the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth. Be careful not to
get near the water while it is hot. Be sure no water gets into the
chocolate. While the chocolate is melting, you may make molds by
lining the cookie cutters with foil.
After the chocolate is melted, the adult can pour it into the cookie
cutters, filling them half full. (A soup ladle helps in the pouring
process.) Set the molded chocolate aside to cool. When it is cool,
peel the aluminum foil away. You may want to save part of the melted
chocolate for dipping, using small pieces of fruit or other food.
Note to adult: When you are doing the above project, be sure to
keep the tap water away from the children until it has cooled to
lukewarm. Make sure all the foil is peeled away from the molded
chocolate before it is eaten.

This is a great gift for a teacher, or you can use
them as centerpieces at your next party and have a drawing each pot
of flowers at the end of the party.
Directions: Decorate a medium sized terra cotta pot. Fill
it with Styrofoam - the kind that is used for artificial flowers.
Cover the Styrofoam with florist's moss. Attach candy bars (the candy
bars used in the poem below) to bamboo skewers (I taped them to the
back, so it didn't ruin the candy) and then place these candy bar
flowers down into the pot. Use the candy bars mentioned below and
attach the following message if you use the gift for a teacher:
Dear Teacher: We want to thank you for all you do for us.
You do "Good and Plenty" around here. You help us by
giving us "Mounds" of homework, so we can "Skor"
well on all or our tests. We know that the lessons you have taught
us will help us both "Now and Later" in life. Sometimes
you are a "Hot Tamale", and other times a "Big
Red", but we know that you love us to (Reeses) "Pieces."
We also know that we make you "Nutrageous" at times.
We wish we could give you a "100 Grand" on "Payday"
but all we have is "Hugs" and "Kisses" and
a"Symphony" of voices saying Thank You and Happy Valentines
Day! Hope this gift brings a "Bit o Honey" to your day.
Here's an alternative: You can put all the candy
in a bowl or basket with the poem or lay it out on poster board with
the candy taking the place of the words:
My dearest SUGAR BABY: I PROMISE this bouquet will bring a
SNICKER as you read my message. I am not playing a TWIX on you.
You are my BIT-O-HONEY. I can always count on you in a CRUNCH,
and I will always TREASURE you. Our GOOD&PLENTY life together
is like 100 GRAND on PAYDAY! I love you to PIECES and wish you
MOUNDS of ALMOND JOY on this Valentines Day! HUGS & KISSES,
NOW& LATER,

Recipe 4 Cupid Poop (it
is very cute)
I made these for some friends last year and they
loved them. Put some of those cinnamon red hot heart shaped candies
in a zip lock bag and give with this poem attached:
"I couldn't send you flowers, and candy wouldn't do.
And mushy cards just didn't say the things I want them to.
So I got you something special, and here's the inside scoop.
I found you something very rare - It's genuine Cupid poop!
