- Sheryl
Suko, GJG, owner of Mrs. Gottrocks Fine Jewelry and Gifts in Manassas,
VA, is featured in Careers in the Jewelry Industry, a publication
that is part of a new outreach initiative sponsored by Jewelers
of America, the national trade association for retail jewelers.
The outreach initiative aims to attract job seekers to the many
opportunities available in the jewelry industry.
Part of the outreach initiative is a guidebook that will be distributed
to high schools, colleges and career counseling centers throughout
the country. The guidebook describes 10 different occupations,
including retail sales professional, management professional,
bench jeweler and appraiser. Suko is profiled in the careers guide
because of her success and expertise in owning and running a fine
jewelry retail operation.
"We hope that individuals looking for promising career options
will draw inspiration from people like Sheryl Suko, who is a shining
example of the success that so many have achieved in the jewelry
industry," says Jewelers of America President and CEO Matthew
Runci.
Suko is happy with her chosen career in the jewelry industry.
She was a successful freelance documentation specialist before
attaining her gemological education and embarking upon her current
path as a jeweler.
"I love my new career," Suko says. "Today I can
look forward to an enjoyable and rewarding life working in the
jewelry industry." Suko, who received the title of Graduate
Jeweler Gemologist (GJG) from the Gemological Institute of America
six years ago, operates Mrs. Gottrocks Fine Jewelry and Gifts,
a custom jewelry design and repair service with a website located
at www.gottrocks.com.
Mrs Gottrocks Fine Jewelry and Gifts offers a wide selection
of fine jewelry for men, women and children, including rings,
bracelets, earrings, pins, necklaces, chains, pendants, diamonds
and gemstones. Mrs. Gottrocks also carries a wide selection of
gifts, charms, Christian jewelry, Judaica and bridal selections.
"Ethical conduct and reasonable pricing is the cornerstone
of Mrs. Gottrocks customer services, including our internet website,"
Suko says.
